Minerva Leadership Program:


The Minerva Leadership Program is a forum for 500 young California women who have performed significant community service and have demonstrated leadership qualities in the spirit of Minerva-(wisdom, courage and strength). The mission of Minerva Leadership Program is to fuel the souls of young women to inspire and empower them to be the architects of their own lives and builders of their own legacies.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be considered for the Minerva Leadership Program, you must meet the following requirements:
Between the ages of 16-22
Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better
Two Faculty/ Staff/ Community Member Nominations/Recommendations
Fully Completed and Signed Application
Short Answer Personal Statement

APPLICATION PERIOD
Applications will be available beginning Tuesday January 20, 2009 to Friday March 20, 2009.

DEADLINE TO APPLY
Applications must be received or postmarked by Friday March 20, 2009. Applications received after the March 20, 2009 deadline will not be considered.

NOTIFICATION
Up to 10 women will be accepted to the Minerva Leadership Program.

NUMBER OF AWARDEES
All Minerva Leadership Program finalists will be contacted by Friday May 8, 2009.

MINERVA LEADERSHIP PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

All Minerva Leadership Awardees must do the following:

  1. Attend the Women’s Conference 2009- TBA.
  2. Participate in the CSUN Community Service Fair.
  3. Perform a 20hr. Community Service project with the other Minerva Leadership Awardees.
  4. Submit a one page reflection paper in regards to your experience at the conference and your Community Service Project.
