For Non-Profit Organizations

The Matador Involvement Center (MIC) located in the University Student Union on the East side of campus, serves as the campus hub for student involvement. The MIC specializes in student clubs, organizations, greek life, and volunteer and community involvement.

The Volunteer Program offers the following services to non-profit organizations:

  • Volunteer opportunity posting on our on-line database.
  • One-day event publication.
  • Poster or flier approval
  • Outreach to specific clubs or organizations.
  • Incentives for long term volunteering like the AmeriCorps and The President's Volunteer Service Award
  • It is also the place to go if you are planning to table or distribute fliers on campus.

Volunteer Database

To become a part or the database:
1. Fill out a Site Registration form - We prefer electronic submissions.

2. Fill out position description(s) - Please note that all positions will be deleted after one year of submission.

3. Return to MIC - If there is a problem with your submission, you will be informed. You can always request a copy of your current positions or contact information. There is no deadline for submissions

Incentives for Long-Term Volunteers

AmeriCorps - Students in Service
Students in Service is an AmeriCorps Program that rewards long term Volunteers with an Educational stipend of up to $2362.50 for their volunteer work. Target enrollment is in August-September, but space may be available all year. Volunteers must be CSUN students.

President's Volunteer Service Award
The President's Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals, families, and groups that have achieved a certain standard - measured by the number of hours served over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime. Both CSUN and non-CSUN students are welcome to participate in the program.
