UNFIED WE SERVE the Volunteer Program at California State University, Northridge is an opportunity offered by the Matador Involvement Center for students to participate in furthering their education through serving the community.

UNIFIED WE SERVE provides students with multiple resources to engage in volunteerism. These resources include Membership, Programs, and Services to meet the diverse needs of our student population.

  • Membership: Students joining UNIFIED WE SERVE participate in community service events as a collective group. Events have consisted of clothing & food drives, providing holiday food baskets for families in need, mentoring youth, reading to kids, AIDS Walk, and many others. Members attend two meetings a month and are eligible to receive a service award from the President of the United States of America.
  • Programs: UNIFIED WE SERVE administers a governmental programs called The Presidents Volunteer Service Award, which offers students and clubs/organizations the opportunity to earn an award from the President of the United States of America for completing service requirements.
  • Services: UNIFIED WE SERVE helps students connect with nonprofit organizations through an online database of volunteer opportunities entitled THE BRIDGE. UNIFIED WE SERVE also offers advisement to clubs/organizations who are interested in participating in philanthropy or community service.

UNIFIED WE SERVE Accomplishments & Awards include:

Recipient of the 2010 Association of College Unions International Service Award for Outstanding Service Project of the Year; adopted families for Thanksgiving (40 families/2009; 70 families/2010; 85 families/2011); donation drive of clothing, food, toys and books (5,000 items/2009; 15,000 items/2010; 16,000 items/2011); raised $4,500 for Haiti relief; raised $25,000 for Autism research.
