Final Call for Programs

Deadline Extended to Noon on Thursday, September 10, 2009

Submit Your Proposal Today!

Although we have received many great program proposals for the 2009 Clubs & Organizations - Annual Recognition Conference, we still have some space for some additional educational sessions.

A sample of topics from recent years and new ideas include: How to Hold an Effective Meeting, Fundraising 101, Officer Transition/Training, How to Plan a Campus Event, Navigating the A.S. Budget Process, Diversity, Partnering with Off-Campus Non-Profits, Member Recruitment, Retention & Motivation, Public Relations on Campus, Alcohol Awareness & Education, and many more...

Our goal is to identify and develop the skills necessary for our students to serve their clubs or organizations and their members. It is also a time for them to develop a greater understanding of the impact these changing times and how there will be opportunities to redefine their college experience! This annual event is mandatory for all clubs and organizations and will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2009 in the University Student Union. We recognize the exceptional leadership, skill, and experience here at CSUN and hope that you are able to share it with club and organization leaders through an educational program at the conference.

The purpose of the conference is to expose our student leaders to information and resources available to them on campus and in the surrounding community. We want to empower our student leaders with the tools necessary to be effective leaders on and off campus. The theme this year is "Redefine Your College Experience."

If you are interested in presenting a topic listed or an original idea, please complete the Educational Program Proposal, and return it to the Matador Involvement Center by Noon on Thursday September 10, 2009. Our goal is to provide a complete conference schedule for student leaders prior to the conference to get them excited as the date approaches. We are eager to hear from you. If you have any questions, please email Augie.Garibay@csun.edu or call us at (818) 677-5111. Thank you for your time and participation.

Sincerely,

Augie Garibay
Activities Coordinator for Clubs and Organizations
