Submit Your Proposal Today!
Although we have received many great program proposals for the 2008 Clubs and Organizations Recognition Conference, we still have some space for some additional educational sessions.
Currently, the topics our students would find most beneficial are: Working with Non-Profit Organizations, Parliamentary Procedure, Sport Clubs Rules & Regulations, Diversity, Gender Equality, Member Retention and Involvement, Officer Transition/Training, Goal Setting, Risk Management. However, we welcome other program submissions.
Our goal is to equip student leaders with the skills necessary to achieve their personal and organizational goals. This annual event is mandatory for all clubs and organizations and will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2008 in the University Student Union. We recognize the exceptional leadership, skill, and experience you bring to your roles everyday and hope that you are able to share it with club and organization leaders through an educational program at the conference.
The purpose of the conference is to expose our student leaders to information and resources available to them on campus and in the surrounding community. We want to empower our student leaders with the tools necessary to be effective leaders on and off campus. The theme this year is "Unleash Your Potential." We hope to use this to teach students how to not only unleash their potential as a leader but also how to unleash the potential of their organization as well.
If you are interested in presenting a topic listed or an original idea, please complete the Educational Program Proposal, and return it to the Matador Involvement Center by Noon on Friday September 12, 2008. Our goal is to provide a complete conference schedule for student leaders prior to the conference to get them excited as the date approaches. We are eager to hear from you. If you have any questions, please email augie.garibay@csun.edu or call us at 818-677-5111. Thank you for your time and participation.
Sincerely,
Augie Garibay
Activities Coordinator for Clubs and Organizations
