Art Education on the Edge

The goals of this organization would be to provide an effective transition from art education preparation to professional practice. We would like to promote and exchange of information, tools, strategies and ideas in order to provide a support system for all individuals interested in being an art educator.


Associated Graduate Students of English (AGSE)

The Association of Graduate Students in English strives to provide graduate students in English, a place to meet and converse with other graduate students to share accurate information about the MA program.


Biology, Ecology, and Evolution Reading Club

The Biology, Ecology, and Evolution Reading Club strives to help students develop critical thinking and reading skills, while becoming more familiar with the literature in ecology and evolution.


CSUN Automotive Enthusiasts

The purpose of CSUN Automotive Enthusiasts (CAE) is to create a community of automotive enthusiasts on the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Campus through social interaction by holding meetings and events. The passion of automobile driving is shared through the experiences and knowledge of individuals within the community. The club advocates safe and responsible driving and is completely against illegal street racing. The goal of CAE is to enrich the minds of students and enthusiasts alike of various automobiles and motorsports.


CSUN Council for Exceptional Children Student Chapter

The purpose of this chapter shall be to advance the education of individuals with exceptionalities and to promote related educational, scientific, and charitable purposes. Specifically, the chapter intends to assist and provide support to the California state/provincial unit of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) in all its efforts on behalf of persons with exceptionalities, and to participate in all appropriate governance activities of CEC subject to the general supervision and control of CEC.


CSUN Jishin Taiko Ensemble

The Jishin Taiko Ensemble is born of an interest in not only Japanese Taiko drumming, Japanese Traditional Music, and Japanese culture, but it also has a desire to form an intra and interpersonal social connection with the Japanese-American community at CSUN.


CSUN Media Entertainment Guild

To inform, encourage and enlighten students’ interest in film and video production, both in practical matters as well as in the aesthetic values. To strengthen the educational process with information, experience and exposure to knowledge that cannot be covered in classes by inviting guest speakers and networking with graduates along with people working in the entertainment industry. The Media Entertainment Guild will generate support from the students and the CSUN community by producing student films, festivals, and special events, thus gaining recognition and respect as a revered part of the academic and social influence of film in the California State University System.


CSUN Performance Ensemble

The CSUN Performance Ensemble Club is formed to stage original and innovative productions, original scripts, poetry, prose fiction and nonfiction, and oral histories for campus and community audiences. Students may develop solo and group performances for university festivals, local schools, and libraries. By participating within the club, students also learn how to make installation art, to consider and play with the avant-garde, use multi-media, and to use their own creative talents to produce work that makes people think, transform, analyze, and activate. The CSUN Performance Ensemble creates work dedicated to cultivating social justice. Their performance scholarship interrogates, narrates, critiques, and offers visions and strategies for social change within an unjust world. Their philosophy is to encourage CSUN students to participate in this social and performative environment in order to think, create, and perform.


Early Childhood Education Masters Association (ECEMA)

The Early Childhood Education Masters Association promotes the professional preparation, development, communication, and coordination of current students and alumni by enhancing the quality of services to young children and their families.


Environmental and Occupational Health Student Association (EOSHA)

The Environmental and Occupational Health Student Association strives to establish channels of communication between members and encourages the exchange of ideas, job experience, job referral, and the mutual improvement of the discipline.


EOP Student Association

The purpose of this organization is to provide support and programming focusing on the academic achievement, development, and growth of students. They will provide leadership opportunities, event and programs to increase social awareness.


Eta Kappa Nu, CSUN (Engineering Honorary)

The Eta Kappa Nu Association was founded at the University of Illinois at Urbana in 1904 by Maurice L. Carr, to encourage excellence in education for the benefit of the public by: Marking in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon engineering education by distinguished scholarship, activities, leadership and exemplary character as students in electrical or computer engineering, or by their attainments in the field of electrical or computer engineering; Providing educational and financial support to said students; and Fostering educational excellence in engineering colleges.


Eta Sigma Gamma Sorority, Alpha Zeta Chapter

Alpha Zeta Chapter of Eta Sigma Gamma strive to elevate the standards, ideals, competence, and ethics of professionally trained men and women in the health education discipline.


Girl Empowered Movement (GEM)

Girl Empowered Movement strive to empower young teens (girls) to become their absolute best. We want to build young teen’s (girl’s) self-esteem and help them learn to love themselves for who they are and take care of themselves. Our goals are to personally inspire teens (girls) around the community and leave a lasting impact. Along with helping teens (girls) we want to dedicate our time and services to the community by completing charitable acts of community service.

Joint Advocates on Disordered Eating (JADE)

The purpose of JADE is to be a peer educational program that is non-discriminatory and promotes awareness of the prevention of eating disorders.


Matadors For Equality

The purpose of Matadors For Equality (MFE) is to empower unity and rise above social injustice among Matadors. We will share our personal experiences of issues that directly affect us as CSUN students whether we are undocumented (AB 540), gay (LGBTQ), disabled, or treated as an inferior class of people on campus and in today’s society. We will also be discussing current events, community service, common interests. Our meetings and activities seek to make CSUN a safer and friendlier environment for all.


Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano/a de Aztlán (M.E.Ch.A.)

M.E.Ch.A. strives to maintain unity among Raza students and community members at CSUN by developing and implementing ways for a better education based on cultural and political consciousness.


Music & Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA)

The Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA) at California State University, Northridge exists to facilitate learning and networking between members, professionals, potential mentors, and employers. The primary goal is to build a consistent awareness of advances in the music and entertainment industry and by doing so, prepare students for careers in the field.


Peer Health Exchange

Peer Health Exchange trains college volunteers to teach health education in public high school students that lack health education. We exist due to our volunteers shared vision of a healthier future and in teaching students the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions.

The purpose of this organization is to open up networking opportunities for students in the physical education and adapted physical education programs. The organization strives to collaborate and open up relationships with classmates, communities and future colleagues.


Preconception Peer Educators (PPE)

The purpose of Preconception Peer Educators CSUN-PPE is as peer educators trained and certified through US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health to reduce health disparities and infant mortality rates, and promote preconception health in those communities most impacted by these issues. We would like to educate the student body, and community about health disparities that exist. The focus is to mentor and encourage total health among minorities in our community and to spread the news about infant mortality rates among African Americans, and minorities in America, and how to decrease these rates by properly educating ourselves about preventative measures.

Student Environmental Research via Engineering (SERVE)

The objective and the goal of this club is to raise awareness of current environmental issues and to promote research opportunities that can lead to a more sustainable future. Students from the engineering department will take lead on selecting research topics; however, each team can consist of students from all disciplines of study.

Union Salvadorena de Estudiantes Universitarios

The intent of this organization is to empower students, through education, of Salvadoran related issues. Organizational goals include; developing an interest towards higher education amongst the Salvadoran Community, developing awareness about cultural, political, and economic issues that directly affect the Salvadoran Community, preserving the historical and cultural identity of El Salvador.

This organization was formed to educate students about LGBT political issues and rights, motivate students to get involved with pro-LGBT campaigns, reduce discrimination against LGBT individuals and develop student leaders who will continue fighting for LGBT rights in the future.
