Information for Students


The AAPG-SEG West Coast Student Expo is set for 1-3 October 2009.  Check our web site www.csun.edu/geology/aapg-seg.htm for updates and additional event information.  The venues will be the California State University Northridge Student Union (registration, poster session, company booths), and Live Oak and Eucalyptus Halls. Schedule
Thursday October 1
9-4 pm                 Field Trip
                           1. Monterey Formation, Palos Verdes (Dr. Rick Behl, CSULB)
                           2. Pliocene Turbidites, Ventura (Tony Reid, Vintage Petroleum)
4-5 pm                 Event Registration and poster set up
5-8:30 pm            Poster Session (field attire ok; judging from 6:30-8:30pm)
                           during wine and cheese mixer (attended by company representatives                            and students)
Friday October 2
10-11:30 am        University tours
11:30-1 pm          Luncheon – Poster Awards
1-5 pm                Company Booth Exposition
                          (opportunity for students to interact with company representatives)

Saturday October 3
8 am - 6 pm        Company interviews of students

< Registration Deadline is 22 September 2009>
Note that companies will start reviewing resumes on September 10!
Early submission strongly advised!

STEP  3:
Also send as PDF attachments your resume (2 page limit) and poster abstract (1 page limit, single spaced).  Please note that changes after submission may NOT be possible, so check your formatting, spelling and content before emailing. Also please include current contact information (e-mail, phone) on your resume, as companies will be contacting you directly to arrange interview times.

Two-page maximum; minimum 10 pt font size
Include contact information (address, phone, e-mail)
Have your advisor or faculty member proof read before submitting!
