The CSUN Geography Map Library is a designated federal depository and contains approximately 200,000 government documents maps from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the Army Mapping Service, among others. Government document maps include topographic, bathymetric, planimetric, and land management maps. The Map Library contains a national and comprehensive collection of USGS "topo" quadrangles at the 1:24,000 scale. Most of the contemporary topographic maps also have one (1) or more historical counterparts in the collection. The government documents map collection is organized by scale and series. Access to government document maps is guaranteed by public law. To access the collection, please contact Map Library staff.
