Steps for Enrollment
The following is a summary of requirements and suggestions to complete your enrollment process. Visit the Freshman Checklist site to check for official updates.
- Schedule Your Placement Exam
The placement exams are mandatory for all first time freshmen, unless you are exempt. You must have your results at the time of your first advising appointment. Register today or call (818) 677-2369

- Start Intent To Enroll Process
Ready to join CSUN? Use your username and password from your Admissions Letter to start the enrollment process on the CSUN Portal. Click on "Forgot Your User ID" or "Forgot Your Password" if you do cannot find your login information.
- Schedule Your Advising
Advisement is required for all first-time freshmen. Make sure you follow up with the information you were sent on advisement. If you do not who to contact for advisement please visit www.csun.edu/ugs/advisement.html or www.csun.edu/eop/htdocs/academicsupport.html and click on your college or on "undecided".
- Plan to stay 2-3 hours
- Purchase a Schedule of Classes & CSUN Catalog at the Matador Bookstore
- Bring your CSUN User ID & Password
- Bring unofficial transcripts if you took classes at a community college
- Bring AP Exam Scores if taken
- Apply for Financial Aid
You don't have to pay for college on your own. Apply by completing a FAFSA as soon as possible. Make sure to enter CSUN's Federal School Code of 001153. For more information, please visit the CSUN Financial Aid Site.
- Applying for Campus Housing

- Scheduling your required New Student Orientation
Use your last name and your CSUN ID#. For more information, about Orientation, please visit the New Student Orientation site.
- Fulfilling Your Immunization Requirement
You must provide proof of immunizations if you were not enrolled in the 7th grade or above at a California public school after July 1, 1999. If you have any questions, please call (818) 677-2307. To schedule an appointment for vaccinations, please visit.
- Registering For Classes
