Financial Aid & Scholarship Department
Welcome Matadors to the new academic year!
There are several exciting changes in the financial aid world. The 2017-18 financial aid application period will begin earlier than in previous application cycles. You will be able to file your FAFSA or CA Dream Application for 2017-18 beginning October 1st, 2016 (in the past, these applications were not available until January 1st). In addition, you will be using 2015 income and tax information and will no longer need to estimate. Most FAFSA filers will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available (This option is not currently available for CA Dream Applicants).
If you’re looking for information on grants, loans, scholarships, work-study or any other financial aid resource, you've come to the right place. The best way to begin the financial aid process is by starting with the basics and submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Application.
You may be subject to a verification process and asked to submit certain forms and documents. Once the necessary paperwork is in order, you will find out if you qualify for grants, loans or work-study. You may also independently apply for scholarships, and seek other resources.
It may seem like a lot, but we’re here to help and make the financial aid process a pleasant one. If you’re still having a difficult time, we've put together some tips and tutorials for your convenience.
