Federal Work-Study

Work-Study is a federally funded program awarded according to financial aid campus policy.  Funds are limited and awarded on a first come first serve basis. Priority is given to students who demonstrate the highest need.

You must indicate on your FAFSA that you are interested in Federal work-study. Work-Study jobs are only open to students who apply for financial aid by the priority deadline of March 2 prior to the upcoming academic year.

There are many benefits to working in a work-study job:

Your Federal Work-Study award is an academic year award. As a condition of Federal Work-Study, you must be enrolled at least half-time during the semester(s) (fall/spring) in which you are employed.

Work-Study is NOT awarded during the summer term. Check to see if you were awarded Work-Study on your myNorthridge Portal.
