I would like to thank you very much for the generous scholarship that you have given me to assist in furthering my education. I truly appreciate this award and know that it will be a tremendous help to me in the continuation of my academic success here at Cal State University Northridge.
I am currently a junior in college majoring in Health Education and taking a minor in Women Studies. With these degrees I plan to open up my very own women's and children's health center for those less fortunate than others; who may not be able to readily afford proper medical insurance and/or coverage. I plan to do this in addition to opening a research center, where research on Cancer and other popular and not so popular disease can be studied. One of the main issues that I want to address and raise awareness about is reproductive health and Planned Parenthood as well as substance abuse. These things are important to me for a number of reasons and have always been issues that were on my heart to deal with.
Some of the things that I enjoy most are playing tennis, bike ridding, reading, swimming and participating in fundraising events. I also enjoy all types of foods and interacting with a diverse group of people; getting to know there culture and such. I have come to enjoy college although difficult at times it is because of individuals like your self that I keep going. I know that if those before me did it with half of the advantages that we have today I can! Thank you again and I will remember to keep you posted on all of my academic success as I journey through college.
