2008-09 SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS REPORT

URGENT NOTICE – IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

We have reviewed your academic progress based upon federal financial aid regulations and have determined that you may not be eligible for financial aid for the 2008-09 year.  If we are unaware of circumstances that you believe warrant a review by your academic advisor, you can appeal as explained below.  Our decision is based on the following reason(s):

<<Comments>>

Because you have been disqualified from aid programs, we are NOT able to pay any portion of your registration fees or housing charges. If you have been academically disqualified and you are not on a 1st DQ Academic Performance Agreement, you cannot appeal the denial of your financial aid. If you have been readmitted to the university, you must notify the Financial Aid and Scholarship Department.

Note:  If you registered for classes or signed an on-campus housing contract with the expectation that your financial aid would pay your expenses, you must make other arrangements for making those payments.  For payment information, refer to the “Money Matters” section in the Schedule of Classes .  Failure to act can jeopardize your enrollment plans and your access to university housing.

Steps to Re-establish Financial Aid Eligibility

  1. Go to the CSU, Northridge Financial Aid website for additional information about the Academic Progress Policy and Appeal Process.
  2. Read, review and print the “Academic Advisement Review” form and the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Instructions.   If you experience any difficulties accessing this form, call or e-mail us and we will send it to you.
  3. Visit your college's Student Services Center/EOP Satellite office and speak to a representative, undeclared majors should see advisement at the Advising Resource Center/EOP. If you have questions about who to talk with, call or e-mail the appropriate academic advisement location.
  4. Take the “Academic Advisement Review” form to your advisement meeting.  After a review, your academic advisor may make a recommendation to reinstate your aid.  The associate dean must also review the recommendation before sending the form to the Financial Aid & Scholarship Department for processing.
  5. If you are a previously disqualified student and you are not on a 1st DQ Academic Performance Agreement, you may re-establish financial aid eligibility by self identifying as a readmitted student. You do not need to submit the "Academic Advisement Review" form.
