Loan Exit Counseling

CSUN offers in-person workshops for student loan borrowers during the fall and spring semesters. The decision to borrow a student loan is very important one and repayment on your loans is as equally important as it can affect your financial future.

If you make regular student loan payments, you maintain your ability to apply for financial aid in the future. In addition, successful student loan payments can lead to a good credit history for larger puchases such as a car or home.

At CSUN, 97% of our students successfully repay their student loans. We are proud of this tradition and we invite you to continue in this pattern of accomplishment.

If you are graduating, have dropped below half-time or are leaving CSUN for any reason, we offer a Loan Exit Workshop to help you plan for the repayment of your student loan(s). You may obtain exit counseling information on the internet at EDFund’s EDTest. This is a service provided by EDFUND, our California guarantee agency.

However, it is highly recommended you attend in-person exit counseling if you have any questions or concerns regarding your loan repayment obligations. One of our representatives at the workshop will be there to assist you.
