INDIRECT COSTS OF COLLEGE

There are some costs that you would have to pay whether you were a college student or not.  You have to live!  Here’s where your decisions can really make a difference.

Transportation
New cars may look hot, but they cost a lot – monthly payments, insurance, maintenance, etc.

Campus parking adds to your cost
Bus and train passes are available through the A.S. Ticket Office at student rates
Sharing rides with other students reduces cost
Riding a bike or walking reduces cost

Housing and Food (also referred to as Room and Board)
Share a room or live at home
Shop around for affordable rent
Rarely eat out – take your lunch, make your own meals
