Dr. Donald Bleich is the Chair of the Department. He received his Ph.D. in Housing, Real Estate, and Urban Land Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1986. He also holds an MBA in Real Estate (UCLA), an MS in Biostatistics (UCLA), and a BA degree in Mathematics (University of Connecticut). Dr. Bleich has been teaching real estate and finance at CSUN since joining the faculty in 1985. His current interests are in real estate valuation and finance. He currently serves on the boards of the Southern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and the Real Estate Education Endowment Fund. Honors have included membership in the Lambda Alpha International (Land Economics), Alpha Sigma Gamma (Real Estate), Beta Gamma Sigma (Business), and Pi Mu Epsilon (Mathematics) honor societies. His publications have appeared in such journals as the Journal of Real Estate Research, the Appraisal Journal, the Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences, and Real Estate Research Issues. Dr. Bleich is the founding director of the Center for Real Estate.
