Michael Hoggan is native born from Phoenix, Arizona, completing his BA and MA in Art from San Diego State, University (emphasis in painting and sculpture) and MFA in Video Digital Art from California State University, Northridge. He has 30 years of credited experience in the Motion Picture and Television Industry and 23 years teaching Film Production and Advanced Motion Picture Editing at California State University, Northridge. His text, “Art and Craft of Motion Picture Editing” was recently published by Routledge/Focal Press. He has received 2 Emmy nominations for Prime-Time Television (Miami Vice Smuggler’s Blues and Homefront the pilot “Snafu”), and 2 ACE Eddie Nominations for Best Editing. He has served as President of the American Cinema Editors (the Phi Beta Kappa organization of the film editing profession.)
