Dr. Young has over 35 years of work experience in academia & 20.5 years at CSUN in the Depart. of Health Sciences. Dr. Young’s research interests include women’s health issues specifically in primary prevention strategies in healthcare services, cultural competence for the healthcare practitioner, & health policy assessment. Dr. Young’s publications, professional presentations, invited lectures (domestic & internationally) and grants are in support of these foci areas. Dr. Young completed her second master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in health policy & management in May of 2010. In 2012, Dr. Young was awarded with the CSUN Research Infrastructure Minority Institute (RIMI) Tiered Mentor Scholar Program. In 2015, Dr. Young was awarded The Council for International Exchange of Scholars Institute of International Education (IIE) U.S. Department of State to the J. William Fulbright Scholar’s Program, Washington D.C. at Zhejiang University in the School of Medicine in Hangzhou, China. Dr. Young taught & conducted research for the spring 2015 semester.
