Brief Biography
I am the Director of the Composition Program in the English Department, direct the MA option in Rhetoric and Composition, and work with colleagues in developing curriculum for the undergraduate minor in Writing and Rhetoric. I publish books and articles in the discipline that is now known as Writing Studies, focusing on genre theory, Composition theory and pedagogy, and learning transfer. Recently, I have become interested in connections between writing, identity, and recent research in neuropsychology.
