The 215+ employees of the Facilities Department is composed of both Facilities Planning Design and Construction (FPDC) and Physical Plant Management (PPM). Facilities provides the campus community with a wide-range of services to ensure the campus’ physical environment meets the University's learning, research and public service goals while developing and maintaining campus facilities, grounds, and infrastructure.
Facilities Planning, Design & Construction (FPDC)
The FPDC Department is charged with planning, develop and delivering physical environments that support and enhance the University's academic mission. FPDC staff work closely with students, faculty, administrative and community in all aspects of capital project development. From the site selection of buildings and courtyards, to the design and construction of sustainable campus facilities and meeting tight budget requirements, collaboration plays a critical role in our work as we strive to provide innovative and cost-effective design and solutions to the CSUN community.

Physical Plant Management (PPM)
The PPM Department is dedicated to the maintenance of the campus’s physical environment. As the stewards of the buildings and grounds on our 350 acre campus, PPM is the single point of contact for all service and maintenance requests. Dedicated to providing superior service to our clients (faculty, staff, students, and neighbors), PPM staff evaluate and prioritize customer service requests, and work to ensure the highest standards for safe, high-quality and cost-effective physical plant management. The PPM department also provides logistical services, such as asset management and shipping/receiving to the CSUN community.
