Services for Faculty

  • General Campus information: Read about the profile and history of the campus, student demographics & statistics, campus publications, administrators' bios, and more.
  • University Counseling Services: Offers consultation on student behavior issues and also offers faculty and staff short-term (3 sessions) employee assistance programs.
  • Faculty Development: Offers numerous workshops and book discussion groups on teaching methods and pedagogical innovations.
  • The Educational Opportunity Program [EOP]: Provides numerous academic services to faculty and students.   The Faculty Mentor Program provides mentoring training, and resources for faculty.
  • Office of Equity and Diversity:  Principal function is to provide campus wide resources and training in support of equity and diversity.  This office also handles allegations of harassment or discrimination, by students, staff and faculty.
  • Information Technology Resources: Find information about campus computing and internet accounts, policies, training and support.
    • Media Services : Borrow audio-visual equipment for your classrooms or make use of the video, audio, photographic, and graphic services.
    • Academic Computing: Attend workshops for computer training and web development; download software licensed by the university
    • CSU Academic Computing Specialty Centers: We subscribe to five academic computing specialty centers, which can be used by faculty, staff and students.
    • Technology Guides: Download instructions for advanced email features, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), web design and publishing, and more.
  • Oviatt Library resources:
    • Online Catalog: Search the Oviatt Library's holdings.
    • Databases: Search off-campus, world-wide databases.
    • Request Forms: for any library service - interlibrary loan, reserves, request library instruction for your classes, request purchases, etc.
    • Media Library: Borrow a video or film from the campus Media Library.

Services for Students

  • College-based Advisement Centers provide services to students and training in advising to faculty. See the link above for locations.   There is also a center for undeclared majors, the Advising Resource Center of EOP.
  • Center on Disabilities  offers a wide array of services for students with physical disabilities and learning disabilities. A team of disability and educational specialists are available to students on a year round basis.
  • The Disabled Van Service provides transportation to disabled students from their home to school and back home. Contact the office of Center on Disabilities at (818) 677-2684
  • University Counseling Services: Refer students to counseling or consult with a counselor about a student or a problem you're concerned about.

Services for Families

  • On-campus child care is offered through two venues:
  • Campus-based Services in local schools and communities:
    • The Family Focus Empowerment Center is an information, referral, support and education organization serving families of infants with at-risk for developmental delays, children and adults with developmental disabilities, and professionals that care for them in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. This program is housed in the College of Education and serves area schools.
    • The CHIME Institute for Children with Special Needs, created by faculty in Special Education, is an off-campus program that offers early intervention and special programs for infants, toddlers and young children with special needs and their families.
