Faculty Development maintains a library of books, journals, newsletters, and articles on teaching, learning, and other aspects of faculty professional development. All faculty, including part-time, full-time, tenure-track, and tenured faculty, are welcome to visit the library and borrow materials available for "checkout."

As part of the Center for Innovative and Engaged Learning Opportunities (CIELO), Faculty Development seeks to:

  • promote effective teaching and learning practices;
  • foster faculty members’ professional growth;
  • strengthen collegial ties; and
  • support the scholarship of teaching and learning at CSUN.

Through workshops, book groups, discussion forums, and services open to all part-time, full-time, tenure-track, and tenured faculty, Faculty Development offers CSUN faculty members a number of opportunities to:

  • learn from CSUN colleagues as they share their innovative teaching and learning practices;
  • participate in cross-disciplinary learning communities;
  • explore with CSUN colleagues topics relevant to campus life; and
  • develop professionally.

Individual Consultation

Faculty Development consults with individual faculty to:

  • enhance/improve teaching
  • increase student involvement
  • interpret student feedback

Would you like to get informal peer feedback on your teaching?  See information at Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID). This service is open to all part-time, full-time, tenure-track, and tenured faculty.
