Taking Programs and Services to Clients around the World
Working with schools and colleges around the globe, The Tseng College can take existing programs to international sites or custom design new programs for an international organization. In addition, The Tseng College has forged a variety of internationally-designed, collaborative partnerships to help start new colleges, improve schools or tackle larger global problems such as preparing a nation's or city's healthcare professionals to meet their distinctive health and wellness challenges.
For larger projects, The Tseng College can assemble and manage a project team that draws on the resources and expertise of many sister colleges and universities to form a broad collaboration, thus creating a valuable resource for international projects.
The Tseng College also works with nations, industry groups, trade associations or national trade councils to bring together U.S. and international businesses for an intensive program that explores trade options, regulatory issues, collaborative ventures, market need, or other topics of concern. Such programs are designed and formatted to foster conversation among potential international partners and help collaborative ventures get started as one firm meets and learns to work with another across international lines.
Bringing the World to the U.S.
The Tseng College can custom design educational and training programs that bring international groups to the U.S. These programs can include study in the English language as well in a particular field.
Most programs of this kind also include visits and fieldwork to allow visiting international groups to experience a professional sector firsthand.
Fieldwork has included watching the U.S. entertainment industry in Southern California at work, observing how different hospitals and clinics handle physical therapy, or visiting biomedical firms to see how they approach new product development and marketing.
Such programs are planned with appropriate contractual arrangements for specific international groups and usually last from one to six weeks.
The Intensive English Program
The Tseng College also has a well-established and highly regarded Intensive English Program (IEP). This program is designed to serve international students who wish to pursue a college education in an English speaking country or institution.
The program is designed to strengthen a participant’s level of written and spoken English language skills needed for success at a college or university where instruction is in English. Admission to this program includes conditional admission to CSUN.
The Tseng College also has a variety of collaborative arrangements with other regional institutions that make it easier for those who complete The Tseng College IEP to go on to college or university study in Southern California.
For more information on IEP, call (818) 677-3923 or e-mail iep@csun.edu or see the IEP Web site.
