The entire Bridge staff is made up of residential mentors, academic mentors, peer advisors, office assistants, faculty, staff and a number of the Campus Security Assistants whom all participated in an intensive week of training. This comprehensive training focused on mentoring, communication, diversity, and conflict resolution helped prepare these peer mentors to work with the students, faculty, staff, and each other. For our Commuter track, tutors also received tutor-specific training from the campus Learning Resource Center/EOP Associate.

As usual, we front-loaded some survival skills the first few days of the program. Students went on campus tours, took care of university business such as getting acquainted with the campus before classes started, while also engaging them in a wide range of community-building activities. Students also received valuable financial aid assistance from our EOP liaison in the Financial Aid office throughout the program.
