EOP Resources
From the Director
Jose' Luis Vargas
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) designs, administers, and supports programs that deliver access and retention services to CSUN students. Established in the Fall of 1968 by a legislative mandate, EOP focuses on highly motivated low-income, first-generation college students, a population that not only reflects the diversity of CSUN's feeder communities, but also the diversity of the university itself. Currently the total undergraduate enrollment of EOP students is approximately 2650 students (8% of university population).
EOP Grants
The Educational Opportunity Program is a legislative program designed for low-income and first-generation college students.
A large percentage of state EOP funding is earmarked for EOP Grants which are administered through the Financial Aid Office. Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be considered for an EOP Grant. Students receive up to $800 per academic year depending on eligibility and availability of funds.
