Student Athletes

The Advising Resource Center/EOP welcomes you and all student-athletes to a comprehensive academic support program that will enhance your opportunity to a smooth transition into college life.  Our professional staff along with our peer advisor mentors will review the Athletic-Academic Advising Contract to ensure all options have been explored. We provide one-on-one and group/workshop advising sessions designed to help outline a specific career goal each semester. Other services include academic monitoring and career development services. Our mission is to help you, the student-athlete, explore, discover and decide. 

The Athletic-Academic Advising Contract
It is a document developed in conjunction with the Office of Academic Services for Student-Athletes. This contract prescribes the specific goals for the semester. It is important to your success, so please follow the steps below when processing your contract:

Step 1:  Meet with your Athletic-Academic Advisor, and on the contract write down your  
            specific courses and goals for the next semester.

Step 2: Once an agreement to the contract has been reached, you and your Athletic-Academic Advisor will sign the contract.

Step 3: Meet with our team, the Advising Resource Center/EOP, and further refine your set of goals for the next semester. Take this opportunity to begin exploring, and expanding your integration with the services we offer along with other services offered throughout our university.

Step 4: Once final agreement to the contract has been reached, a member of our Professional Advising Staff will sign the contract and make a copy to be retained by our department.

Step 5: The Professional Advisor will input all pertinent information into our in-house database keeping a good record history with the aim to better serve all of your academic needs.

The original advising contract is color-coded and should be distributed as follows:

  1. white copy       is for Student-Athlete
  2. yellow copy      is for Athletic Academic Advisor
  3. pink copy        is for Athletic Coach
