45 - 60 Unit Policy for Undecided/Undeclared Students

Undecided students who have achieved 45 units toward graduation by the end of the current semester are required to visit the ARC/EOP for advisement and career counseling.

A 45 unit Checklist will be reviewed, a plan of action will be developed and discussion of the 60 unit policy will be conducted.

60+ Unit Policy for Undecided/Undeclared Students

Undecided students who have achieved 60 units by the end of the current semester will be required to declare a major in order to receive clearance from Admissions & Records to register for classes in the next semester.

This means that all undecided/undeclared students with 60+ units will have both an advisement Hold and an A&R registration Hold.

The student must take the appropriate actions to declare a major [check departmental procedures] in order to receive clearance to register from A&R.   ARC/EOP will have access to clear only the advisement Hold.

ARC/EOP has the discretion to override this 60 unit requirement if so determined by the director of ARC/EOP.  If ARC/EOP evokes this discretion, the student will be placed on a one semester contract that will require extensive work with the appropriate career specialist to aid the student in declaring a major by the end of the contract semester.  The signed contract will be forwarded to A&R,  which will release the registration Hold.
