Description of the Test: “The Mathematics Placement Test (MPT) is a CSUN test, which is used to determine eligibility for enrollment in Math 103, 104, 105, 106, 150A and 255A and must have been taken within the year preceding enrollment in these courses. The MPT does not replace the ELM requirement, but is used in addition to the ELM to determine eligibility for enrollment. MPT Part I is 45 minutes long and consists of 45 multiple choice questions on intermediate algebra. The MPT Part II is 60 minutes long and consists of 40 multiple questions based on trigonometry and advanced topics from intermediate algebra. A minimum score of 27 on Part I is required for enrollment in Math 103, 104, 105 and 106. Minimum scores of 27 on Part I and 22 on Part II are required for enrollment in Math 150A. Minimum scores of 27 on Part I and 22 on Part II are required for enrollment in Math 255A.” MPT Testing Information: Test Dates: Please see Testing Center Time: 8:30 AM—Do not be late; latecomers will not be tested.
