Interests: Modern British Literature, Caribbean literature, Women's writing, Irish literature

Dr. Wightman joined the faculty of CSUN in 2003, after completing a Ph.D. in English at UCLA and an M.A. in Anglo-Irish Studies at University College Dublin. Her research interests lie in Irish, Caribbean, and postcolonial literatures and in cultural studies of space, and her work has appeared (or will appear) in New Voices in Irish Criticism (Ed. P.J. Mathews), The Irish Literary Supplement, and the forthcoming Irish Women Writers: An A-Z Guide. She teaches primarily twentieth-century British and postcolonial literatures. In a former life, she was a member of the editorial staffs of Vogue, HG, and Mirabella magazines.
