ENGLISH 098: DEVELOPMENTAL WRITING

TEXTBOOKS

Textbooks will be selected from a list of appropriate 098 texts selected by the Coordinator of Developmental Writing with members of this writing faculty, and approved by the composition committee. Faculty who wish to order texts not on the list will consult with the Coordinator of the Developmental Writing Program or the Director of Composition before placing an order. Texts listed for other course may not be selected for this course, with the exception of the text chosen for the Freshman Common Reading each year. Any text should reflect current approaches to teaching developmental composition and the specific recommendations of these course guidelines. Texts limited to paragraph or sentence level writing may not be used as the main test for this class. Any reading anthology or text should challenge the students at this level, and provide intellectual stimulation for class discussion and writing.
