ENGLISH 097: DEVELOPMENTAL WRITING

TEXTBOOKS

Textbooks for 097 instructors are selected by the Textbook Committee of the developmental program. Instructors should consult the approved list of appropriate 097 texts. Faculty who wish to order texts not on the list should consult the Coordinator of the Developmental Program or the Director of Composition before placing an order. Texts that are listed for courses other than 097 may not be chosen for this course. Any text chosen should reflect current approaches to teaching developmental reading and writing, and should allow for the integration of reading and writing. No book limited to paragraph level writing may be used as the main text for the class. Any text chosen for reading should challenge the students at this level and provide intellectual stimulation.

Adopted February 14, 1991, by the Composition Committee

Adopted March 1, 1991, by the English Department Reviewed: Fall, 2001; Coordinator and Faculty Developmental Writing Program

Reviewed, Spring, 2007, Coordinator and Faculty of the Developmental Writing Program
