Welcome to the Department of English at
California State University, Northridge
With thirty-five tenured and tenure-track faculty and nearly seventy lecturers, we are one of the largest departments on the Northridge campus. The Department of English offers a wide variety of courses and programs in the fields of literature, language, composition and rhetoric, and creative writing.
We regret to inform you that due to budgetary constraints and California's current fiscal crisis, we are forced to cancel this year's search for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Eighteenth-Century British Literature and Culture. We feel this disappointment keenly, as we had looked forward with much enthusiasm to interviewing candidates at MLA. We wish each of you the best of luck in your search for a tenure-track position.
