Scott A. Beals is vice president of technology and sales for Sempra Fiber Links, which builds fiber-optic networks for telecommunications companies by utilizing the distribution infrastructure of natural gas utilities. He is a founder of the Sempra Fiber Links and has numerous patents issued in his name.

In his current position, Beals is responsible for technology development, manufacturing and sales outside of California. Beals comes to Sempra Fiber Links with nearly 20 years of experience in the energy, telecommunications and engineering industries.
Before joining Sempra, Beals spent more than 15 years with Southern California Gas Company, where he held a number of positions. Previously, he was director of gas transmission and storage businesses where he developed concepts and business plans for asset-based enterprises.
Prior to serving as director of business solutions, Beals was also a product development and brand manager, a strategic planning manager and research & development manager for Southern California Gas. His expertise in environmental regulation and policymaking comes from several years as an environmental public affairs manager, also while at Southern California Gas.
Beals holds a master’s degree in business administration from West Coast University, a master’s degree in engineering from California State University, Northridge and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of California, Irvine.
