The Office of Emergency Management is a unit of the Department of Police Services that is charged with coordinating all activities needed to prepare for and respond to both natural and man-made emergency situations. The responsibility for a campus emergency management program as required in California State University Executive Order #1056, has been delegated to the Department of Police Services. The Department is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of an emergency management system program on campus and the development and implementation of programs and projects in emergency planning, training, response and recovery. Zombie Preparedness Scavenger Hunt
Join us for the second annual CSUN Zombie Preparedness Scavenger Hunt and walk with the "walking dead!" CSUN Disaster Preparedness Academy: Brown Bag Series
CSUN Emergency Management is launching a new "Disaster Preparedness Academy" open to students, staff, faculty and community members! The Core Academy courses are a series of brown bag style workshops held on Thursdays this fall over the lunch hour. The Academy capstone classes are in depth discussions on two very important subjects. Each class requires separate registration--you can take as many of these classes as you like or just choose the one or two most interesting to you! Building Evacuation Drills & Building Marshal Training
We have recently developed a plan to ensure that all buildings on campus receive building evacuation drills at least once over the next 18 months, with the goal of establishing drills as an annual occurrence. Planning building evacuation drills requires the support of the departments and occupants in each building, this includes the designation of Building Marshals and Principal Building Marshals for every building on campus. Building Marshals are required to attend a general, basic training session before building specific planning and training can begin. We encourage you to volunteer to assist with evacuations as a Building Marshal and/or to assist with recruiting additional Building Marshals in your area.
