Lisa Hermatz, a member of the American Sign Language Teachers, has taught college level ASL for over 20 years for Pierce College & Glendale Community College. She is delighted to be joining the Deaf Studies family as an Assistant Professor here at California State University, Northridge after teaching as an adjunct for two years. Read more

Our 10th annual All Abilities Resource Fair is happening on October 15, 2023 from 11am-3pm at the University Student Union. This is our biggest event of the year. We are excited to see the community, including CSUN faculty and students, at our event. We will have volunteer opportunities available to sign up very soon. Read more

Dr. Dimpal Jain (Educational Leadership & Policy Studies) has recently won an NSF grant entitled "HSI Planning Project: CSUN START", was recognized for her work with the Badge Project, and presented her book First Generation Faculty of Color: Reflections on Research, Teaching, and Service at the 2023 National McNair Conference at UCLA. In April, 2023 Strength United announced the beginning of an Executive Director search to identify the next leader of this amazing organization. After an extensive search and a three staged selection process, with significant consideration given to the skills, experiences and expertise needed to successfully guide StrengthUnited in its next phase of growth and focus.
