Education Professor Deborah Chen (Special Education) presented “Dual Language Learning in Children with Severe Disabilities: In Support of Home Language Maintenance” at the 2012 TASH Conference (formerly known as The Association for Persons with Severe Handicaps), Long Beach, California, November 29, 2012. In addition, Dr. Chen presented “Recommended Practices Toolbox: Promoting Dual Language Learning in Young Children with Disabilities” at the Division for Early Childhood’s (DEC) 28th Annual International Conference on Young Children with Special Needs and Their Families, Minneapolis, Minnesota, October 29, 2012. Dr. Chen also presented “Developing Functional Skills for Children with Complex Needs: Focus on Vision and Hearing” for the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, October 24, 2012.

Education Lecturer Steve Holle (Elementary Education) presented “Using Instructional Intelligence to Enhance Class Participation” to visiting Chinese scholars at CSUN, November 9, 2012. In addition, Mr. Holle co-presented with Drs.
