Faculty Achievements - Publications

Education Associate Professor Susan Auerbach (Educational Leadership and Policy Studies) authored a book entitled School Leadership for Authentic Family and Community Partnerships: Research Perspectives for Transforming Practice (Routledge, 2012).

Education Professor Deborah Chen (Special Education) co-authored a book entitled Adapting Early Childhood Curricula for Children with Special Needs, 8th edition (Person, 2012). Dr. Chen also co-produced a DVD and handouts with Education Professor Michele Haney (Special Education) and Annie R. Cox (Executive Director, CHIME Early Education Programs) entitled Supporting Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education: A Cross-Cultural Competence Video Library (Paul H. Brookes Publishing, 2012).

Education Professor Cynthia Desrochers (InnovatED Editor) had her article entitled “Projects, Test, or Assignments that Require Original or Creative Thinking” posted online in Tomorrow’s Professor (Stanford Center for Teaching and Learning, November 7, 2011). It was reprinted from her 2005 POD-IDEA Center article.

Education Professor Beth Lasky (Special Education) co-authored “Involvement of Language Minority Parents of Children with Disabilities in Their Child’s School Achievement” in Multicultural Education, spring 2011.

Education Research Associate Jinyi Li (Office of Doctoral Programs) co-authored “State Level Hot Topic Issues Facing Community Colleges: From the Perspective of the State Directors” in Community College Journal of Research and Practice, January 2012.

Education Professor Judy Lombardi (Secondary Education) authored “Positive Effects of Brain-based Education on Teacher Performance Assessment Outcomes” in Education as Change, December 2011.

Education Assistant Professor Sally Spencer (Special Education) co-authored “The Effects of a Fluency Intervention on the Fluency and Comprehension Outcomes of Middle School Students with Severe Reading Deficits” in Learning Disabilities Research and Practice, 2010.
