  • Education Associate Professor Susan Auerbach (Educational Leadership and Policy Studies) presented “Conceptualizing Leadership for Authentic School-Family Partnerships: A Continuum to Inform Practice” at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting, Vancouver, Canada on April 9, 2012.
  • Principal Debbie Bohn, Saugus Union School District (Dr. Bohn is a 2011 graduate of the PK12 Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership, Eisner College) and Peggy Johnson (Educational Leadership and Policy Studies) co-presented “Exploring First Grade Teachers’ Use of Data to Inform Early Literacy Instruction” at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting, Vancouver, Canada on April 14, 2012.
  • Education Professor Cynthia Desrochers (InnovatED editor) presented “HIP HIP Hurrah for High-Impact Practices” to faculty in the master’s degree program from the Universidad Tecnologica de Chile (INACAP) during their April 2012 CSU visit. She co-wrote the INACAP Master’s of Pedagogy in Higher Education Degree Program (2008) in which they are enrolled.
  • Education Associate Professor Brian Foley (Secondary Education) presented “Developing a Scratch Science Curriculum” at the Scratch Conference, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts on July 26, 2012.
  • Education Associate Professor Julie Gainsburg (Secondary Education) presented “Developing Skeptical Reverence for Mathematics” at the American Society for Engineering Education Annual Conference, San Antonio, Texas on June 12, 2012, and “Developing Engineer’s Adaptive Mathematical Expertise” at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting, Vancouver, Canada on April 13, 2012.
  • Education Associate Professor Lynn Gordon (Elementary Education) presented “Phonics Stuff! Engaging Materials and Cool Teaching Things that Can Perk Up Your Phonics Lessons” at the International Reading Association’s 57th annual convention, Chicago, Illinois on May 1, 2012.
  • Education Professor Adele Eskeles Gottfried (Educational Psychology and Counseling and Director of Research Enhancement, Eisner College) presented “From Research to Social Responsibility: Making the Connections” as her award address as recipient of the Social Responsibility Award by the Western Psychological Association, San Francisco, California, April 27, 2012.
  • Education Professor Norman Herr (Secondary Education) presented “Computer Supported Collaborative Science” at the Hewlett Packard Catalyst Summit in Beijing, China on April 13, 2012, and “Computer Supported Collaborative Instruction” for the Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education, Austin, Texas on March 6, 2012.
  • Education Assistant Professor Peggy Johnson (Educational Leadership and Policy Studies) and Associate Professor Greg Knotts (Elementary Education) co-presented “Developing Communities of Practice in an Educational Leadership Doctoral Program” at the California Association of Professors of Educational Administration, Sacramento, California on March 3, 2012.
  • Education Research Associate Jinyi Li (Office of Doctoral Programs in Educational Leadership) co-presented with Assistant Professor Jody Dunlap and Professor Robert Kladifko (Educational Leadership and Policy Studies) “Competencies for Effective School Leadership: To What Extent are They Included in Ed.D. Leadership Programs” at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting, Vancouver, Canada on April 14, 2012. Also, Jinyi Li, Jody Dunlap, and Mitra Hoshiar, Pierce College (Dr. Hoshiar is a 2012 graduate of the Community College Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership, Eisner College) co-presented “Examining the Effectiveness of Student Authentication and Authenticity in Online Learning at Community Colleges” at the Council for the Study of Community Colleges annual conference, Orlando, Florida on April 20, 2012.
  • Chief Academic Officer Dilmit Singh, Granada Hills Charter High School (Dr. Singh is a 2011 graduate of the PK12 Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership, Eisner College) and Peggy Johnson (Educational Leadership and Policy Studies) co-presented “Professional Learning Communities for High School Improvement” at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting, Vancouver, Canada on April 15, 2012.
  • Education Assistant Professor Dana Stone (Educational Psychology and Counseling) presented “Black-White Identity: Mothers Raising Biracial Children” at the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists national conference, Charlotte, North Carolina on September 14, 2012.
