Education Professor Adele Eskeles Gottfried (Education Psychology and Counseling and Director of Research Enhancement, Eisner College) was appointed to serve on the proposal review committees for the 2013 conventions of the American Educational Research Association and the Society for Research in Child Development.

Education Professor Rie Rogers Mitchell (Educational Psychology and Counseling) has been honored by being named president of the International Society of Sandplay Therapy (ISST). The ISST educates and certifies licensed therapists in sandplay therapy and provides international exchange, training programs, and research on this Jungian-oriented therapeutic approach.
