Faculty Achievements - Grants
- Education Associate Professor Sally Spencer and Professors Sue Sears and Nancy Burstein (Special Education) were awarded $1.5 million for “Project REACH: Restructuring Teacher Education Around Clinical Practice in High-Need Schools” by the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of the grant is to improve the coursework and services in the traditional Special Education Mild/Moderate pathway.
- Education Associate Professor Shartriya Collier (Elementary Education) was awarded 3-units released-time this semester to study “What’s Sex Got to Do with It? The Preparation of Elementary Male Teacher Candidates” as a Michael D. Eisner College of Education Research Grant awardee. Her study examines experiences of male elementary education teacher candidates, serving as a preliminary analysis to determine if male students are experiencing challenges/successes and the variables influencing these outcomes.
