1. _________ Make initial contact with Frank Vargas (frank.vargas@csun.edu) to let him know of your interest in the Joint Program.
2. _________ Apply to become a CSUN Graduate Student.

b. ________ Make application to both CSUN and ELED at

Once application is made you will either be designated as "Classified" or "Conditionally Classified."
You must work to reach Classified Status as follows:
3. ________ Reach Classified Status if originally designated as "Conditionally Classified" by providing proof of successful performance on either or both of the two items below and setting up a meeting with Dr. Belgrad to fill out the reclassification form.
a. ________ If Undergrad GPA is below 3.0 you must take the general GRE (www.gre.org) and pass one of three sections at the 50th percentile.
b. ________ If you have not taken the UDWPE (818/677-2369).
4. ________ Once "Classified" you set up a meeting with Dr. Belgrad to create an Official Program of Study. This can be done in conjunction with #3 above,

Apply for graduation one year prior to your anticipated date of graduation.
