Dr. Susan Belgrad joined the faculty in 2003, coming to Northridge from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois where she served as an Associate Professor of Education and Associate Dean/Program Coordinator of the Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership. Having been a special educator in an elementary setting for many years, Dr. Belgrad worked in higher education in early childhood, elementary, secondary and special education. Dr. Belgrad holds a B.A. in child development from Northern Illinois University, M.A.T. in special education from Northeastern Illinois University and and Ed.D. in educational administration from Vanderbilt University. Her teaching and research interests are in authentic assessment, learner-centered schools, educational technology--web-based learning and brain-compatible learning.
