You are receiving this e-mail because our records show that you are scheduled to take the ELPS Comprehensive Exam on Saturday, October 27, 2012. This letter will serve as your invitation to the ELPS Comprehensive Exam Seminar. If you are planning to take the exam at a later date, please notify me via the e-mail address below.
If you are not “classified,” you will receive a notice of missing information/documents over the next few weeks, and it is your responsibility to address the issues that are missing as soon as possible. You will not be allowed to take the Comprehensive Exam if you are not classified by October 19, 2012. To check your classification status, you may call the ELPS office at (818) 677-2591.
The Comprehensive Exam seminar is scheduled for Saturday, September 22 from 8:15 am to 12:30 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in. The seminar will be held in Education Building Room 2119, which is in the building’s south wing.
The nearest student parking lot is B5, across the street from the Education building. Please see campus map at http://www.csun.edu/maps. There is a $6 parking fee which can be purchased at any of the ticket machines within the parking lot, or at the information booth kiosks.
During sign-in you will need to indicate whether you want to take the essay part of the Comprehensive Exam on a computer, which we will provide, or if you prefer to handwrite your essays.
This Seminar is optional and is provided by the ELPS faculty. Because the content being discussed is geared for the K-12 option, you are welcome to leave after the computer orientation. All materials and handouts that will be discussed may be accessed on the ELPS web page under Comprehensive Exam (http://www.csun.edu/education/elps/comps/index.html).
We try to reach each and every one of our students by e-mail, but we ask that you please share this information with your colleagues who are also scheduled to take the Comprehensive Exam.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation with this matter. We look forward to seeing you at the Comps Exam Seminar.
Ricardo Sosapavon, Comprehensive Exam Coordinator
