CME Group Trading Challenge 2013-14

A CSUN Economics Alumnus who runs the Los Angeles FX Trading Group, which provides support and guidance for those who are looking to trade their own money in the financial markets,  would like to lead a team of traders to the CME Group Trading Challenge for 2014.  CSUN Econ students have participated in this challenge for two years. It's free, it's fun, and it's a great experience for students who are interested in financial markets. He  needs a team of at least 3 traders to enter. Participation is open to other majors as well as Econ. He will  show the team how to trade. You can  visit this link (  to find out more about the competition.

Matador Network Program

The N Crowd in the Office of Alumni Relations would like to share with you an exciting, new online resource for students: The Matador Network. The CSUN Career Center and CSUN Alumni Association have proudly partnered together to launch this student-alumni mentoring network. It is an online database that brings together students and CSUN Alumni who can share their professional journey. The goal is to provide a setting for students to establish connections and prepare for the transition to post-colligate life. At the present moment, there are already over 500 alumni mentors in the system from all departments on campus, several of which are from the Economics Department. Interested students would need to simply create an online profile and can search for mentors through a variety of filters which include major and industry.

This tool will prove invaluable to student success. For further information and to sign up:

We are always working to recruit additional mentors, so alumni are invited to take part in the program.
