Online access to accommodations and services
Students registered with the Disability Resources and Educational Services office have access to the Web-based Student Access and Accommodation System (SAAS). SAAS is used to manage the alternative testing process and to request academic accommodations, support services and alternative testing. Log in to SAAS here.
Please note that the academic accommodation "Shared Notes" may be requested and approved online. However, students with an approved "Shared Notes" accommodation must report to the DRES office to retrieve a "Shared Notes" packet. Each semester, the classmate who has agreed to share class notes must return his or her portion of the "Shared Notes" packet to the DRES office by the designated deadline.
If you have problems accessing SAAS, the issue may be your Web browser. Make sure you’re using the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or Google Chrome.
If you’re still having trouble accessing the system, drop by the DRES office in Bayramian Hall 110 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. You can also call (818) 677-2684 for phone support or email email@example.com.
Scheduling exams at DRES in the Student Access and Accommodation System (SAAS)
In order to schedule staff, assistive technology, alternate media and testing rooms, exams should be requested in the Student Access and Accommodation System (SAAS) at least four business days prior to the exam date. Fall– 2015 final exams must be submitted (scheduled) prior to 12 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015.
Standardized exams with disability accommodations must also be scheduled with the DRES office after you have registered and paid the Testing Center. Contact DRES at (818) 677-2684 to schedule a standardized exam, such as the Writing Proficiency Exam, Entry Level Mathematics Test, English Placement Test, Chemistry Placement Test and Mathematics Placement. All university deadlines apply to exams scheduled at the DRES office.
Important final exam information for students, faculty and staff
CSUN students may view the final exam date for each of their enrolled classes by logging into their web portal. Please note that Fall– 2015 final exams must be scheduled in SAAS by Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 at 12 a.m..
Due to high demand, final exam scheduling deadlines are strictly enforced. In order to submit a final exam date after the final exam request deadline, a meeting at DRES with a counselor and an administrative review of each request may be required.
Scheduling a final exam in SAAS is different than scheduling a regular exam or quiz. When final exam requests are submitted in SAAS, SAAS determines if the exam is scheduled during the designated finals' week. If the exam request date is scheduled during the week of final exams, SAAS prompts the user with a message informing the user to select a final exam (date/time block). A new screen appears, permitting the user to make a date/time block selection for their final exam.
Please note that DRES provides evening hours, 5 to 9 p.m., during finals week only to support alternative testing. No other services will be available from 5 to 9 p.m. Please refer to the Fall - 2015 final exam deadlines, dates and start times below.
