Accommodating Students with Disabilities in the Learning Environment
Working in a diverse environment, faculty at California State University, Northridge play a crucial role in helping students with disabilities achieve academic success. Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) recognizes that students with disabilities, faculty and DRES staff all have responsibilities in the accommodation process. Without the contribution of each party, students would not be able to fully access activities both in and out of the classroom that are necessary for academic success. The following guide is intended to clarify the roles of faculty, students, and DRES staff in the accommodation process.
As an additional resource to assist faculty, the DRES department has produced a "Faculty Guide to Accommodating Students with Disabilities." Faculty are invited to contact DRES with any questions or concerns regarding these instructional guidelines.
