Eldercare: The Emotional Challenges for Caregivers

Wednesday, February 22, 2017 - 10:00am to 11:30am

Location:
HR Training Rm, Oviatt Library 16, Garden Level

Presented By:

Yael Wyte, Empathia/Life Matters

Description:

It is estimated that 80% of all care received by older Americans is provided by family members. Those of us who have senior loved ones in our lives want to be sure they’re well-cared for. This can be emotionally challenging for family members as they try to balance their work and children in addition to taking care of a loved one. This session will address some of the emotional challenges caregivers face , the importance of a support network, and resources available.

Content includes:

  • Common reactions
  • How to involve other family members
  • Active loving
  • Caring for the caregiver, and
  • How LifeMatters® can help
