At California State University, Northridge, every employee plays an important part in the success of our students. To that end, our Personal and Professional Program oversees the annual programming of workshops and seminars available to faculty and staff, and to current and up-and-coming managers. In addition, the Personal and Professional Development Program oversees our New Employee Welcome Orientation Program.
Connecting the Dots - Professional Development partners with campus colleagues and departments to build a robust Professional and Personal Development Program that will engage, inspire, and equip you to continue to be a dynamic and contributing factor in the success of our students. In 2014, we featured more than 150 sessions and workshops. Until our 2014-2015 Catalog is assembled, View the 2013-2014 library of programs by clicking the "Connect the Dots" icon above.
Leadership Development - Each year, Professional Development offers a series of seminars and workshops designed specifically for those in supervisory and managerial positions. While some sessions focus on training or improving processes surrounding internal business, the majority of sessions focus on developing the individual to become a manager, inspiring staff, and engaging in the promotion of the University.
Staff Service Awards and Recognition of Excellence Awards - On June 3, 2014, Human Resources hosted the 48th annual Staff Service and Recognition of Excellence Awards Event. The Staff Service Awards are an opportunity for the University to recognize staff on their service - each year we recognize staff who are marking completion of service in five year increments. The Recognition of Excellence Awards honor individuals and teams who embody the mission and values of CSUN in their outstanding performance of their duties, and beyond. These include the Presidential Award, Jolene Koester Team Award, Merit Award, Alumni Award, and new this year, the Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award.
