Meal Plan

Fall/Spring Meal Plan Information

  • Fall 2015 and Spring 2016: Annual Meal Plans start Saturday, August 22, 2015 and ends Wednesday, May 18, 2016
  • Spring 2015 only: Meal plan begins Saturday, January 17, 2014 and ends Saturday, May 16, 2014
  • Fall 2014 and Spring 2015: Annual Meal Plans start Saturday, August 23, 2014 and ends Saturday, May 16, 2015

 


How Do I Apply For A Meal Plan?

Annual Meal Plans (Fall/Spring): Meal Plans are available to all students, including those living off-campus. Annual Meal Plans start Saturday, August 22, 2015, and end Saturday, May 18, 2016. Geronimo's will close for the semester on May 18, 2016. A new feature has been added to the application process which allows students to apply for a Meal Plan at the same time as their Student Housing through the online Student Housing Portal. Although you may apply for both at the same time, Meal Plan fees are not included in Student Housing fees. Please do not make any payments for your Meal Plan until you see the remaining charges posted to your CSUN myNorthridge Web Portal. To view Meal Plan terms & conditions click here.

Spring Semester Only & Off-Campus Student Meal Plans: Students living off-campus or students applying for the Meal Plan for the Spring semester only may purchase a Meal Plan by downloading and completing the Meal Plan Application found here. You may either mail or drop it off the completed application to the Meal Plan office. Do not send any applications via email! Please do not make any payments for your Meal Plan to Cash Services until you see the remaining charges for the semester posted on your CSUN myNorthridge Web Portal.

Returning/Continuing Meal Plan Students: Students who have participated in the Meal Plan in the 2014-2015 academic year are eligible to receive an added perk. Please contact the Meal Plan office at mealplan@csun.edu for details.

Faculty / Staff: Faculty and Staff Block 10 Dining Plan can be purchased anytime directly at the Meal Plan office. Click here for more details.

Which Plan Would Work Best For Me?

Students Living in Housing Units Without a Kitchen

Purchasing either a 10 Meal Flex 700, 12 Meal Flex 500, or 14 Meal Flex 300 meal plan is required.

  • Deadlines: There is no deadline to purchase a meal lan, however you must have a meal plan in place prior to moving into your non-kitchen housing unit.
  • You will not be given a key or even allowed to chose your room if you have not yet purchased a meal plan.
  • Once you have gone through the application and payment process, you will receive an email letting you know where and when you can pick up your meal plan card.
  • You must bring your CSUN photo ID card with you when you pick up your meal plan card.
  • The sooner you get your application in, the smoother things will go once you arrive on campus.
  • Note: The initial $160.00 will be due with your application. You must make your first payment by that date. Financial aid will not cover this payment.

Students Living in Housing Units With a Kitchen

For students living in a housing unit with a kitchen, meal plans are not mandatory but are available to those who are interested.

  • The 5 Meal 300 dining dollar plan and 7 Meal 600 dining dollar plan were specially designed to be more affordable and cater to busy students who may not want to cook everyday.
  • With fewer meals at Geronimo's and more dining dollars for on campus meals, it’s a perfect balance between eating at home and dining out.
  • Remember, you can only cancel a meal plan if you move off campus or withdraw from CSUN.
  • Deadlines: There is no deadline for signing up, so feel free to get a feel for your living situation before you apply.
  • If you are already 100% sure that you would like a meal plan, submit your application through the Student Housing Portal before the start of the semester so we can have your meal card ready for you by the time you move in to your campus housing.
  • Once you have gone through the application and payment process, you will receive an email letting you know where and when you can pick up your meal plan card. Please make sure you bring your CSUN photo ID card with you when you pick up your card.
  • Remember, you can only cancel a meal plan if you move off campus or withdraw from CSUN.
  • Note:The first initial payment of $160.00 will be due with your application. You must make your first payment by that date. Financial aid will not cover this charge.

Students Living Off-Campus

Meal plans are also available to students who do not live in campus housing.

  • Students living off-campus are welcome to purchase any of our 5 Meals Plans, however the following dining plans are recommended:
    • 7 Meals (weekly at Geronimo's) + $600 Dining Dollars (Fall-Spring semester)
    • 5 Meals (weekly at Geronimo's) + $300 Dining Dollars (Fall-Spring semester)
    • Matador 25 (25 meals at Geronimo's to be used anytime during the academic year; no Dining Dollars are included with this plan)
  • If you are interested and would like more information, please email us at . Be sure to include your name, CSUN ID number and where you will be living while attending CSUN.
  • Note: The 5 meal 300 plan and 7 meal 600 plan require you to dine at Geronimo's 5 or 7 times a week or else your meals are forfeited, so please make sure your schedule allows you to do so.

  • Remember, you can only cancel a meal plan if you move off campus or withdraw from CSUN.
  • Note: If you have Financial Aid, you must submit your application along with the initial $160.00 payment. Financial aid will not cover the initial $160.00 payment.
