Support the College

College of Social and Behavioral Sciences: Sierra Hall

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is fortunate to receive private gifts and grants that boost student and faculty excellence. Gifts to the college make a significant difference in fulfilling our mission to educate and inspire the thousands of students that we teach each year by providing exceptional learning opportunities in the social sciences.  We are grateful to our loyal alumni, parents and friends whose generous support enables the College to provide educational excellence.

The College raises funds through gifts from individuals and corporations as well as public and private grants. These donations lend invaluable support in the form of quality student programs, scholarships, graduate student fellowships, endowed professorships for faculty scholarship, important research projects for both students and faculty and state-of-the-art classrooms and labs.

Gifts have a tremendous impact on our ability to enhance the learning experience of our students by supporting applied research and experiential learning opportunities.  Raising resources to support our College is more critical than ever.  We play a vital role in educating our future leaders, advancing our cultural knowledge and solving complex societal problems. We invite you to explore the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and to consider playing a key role in our success.

Our College is proud to have our Ambassadors, a group of distinguished alumni, business and community leaders who help us enrich and expand the work of the College as well as link our College with the world beyond campus.  Ambassadors serve as an advocate for the College in the community, provide financial support and participate in special events.

Whether you make a small donation or a large endowment, every contribution makes an immediate difference to CSUN students and is deeply appreciated.  For more information please contact Anne Robison, Director of Development, (818) 677-7738.

Become Involved in the College

. Helping Hands

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences remains relevant through its strong connections with the surrounding community, both local and regional.

Our community of alumni, neighbors, and friends has numerous opportunities to become involved with the College.  Opportunities include:

  • Lectures.  College faculty and distinguished guests offer stimulating and thought-provoking lectures on a wide range of topics that are free to the public.  Visit http://www.csun.edu/csbs/index.html for information on upcoming lectures and other events.
  • Professor for a Day.  Business and industry leaders have the opportunity to step out of the office and into the classroom, where they teach a class in their area of expertise and enjoy a “sabbatical” from their workplace for a few hours.
  • Internships.  Our students expand their knowledge and scholarship through applied internships in the “real world.”  Internships are one of the most important ways we serve the public and private sector while enhancing the education of our students.
  • Alumni activities.  Alumni of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences can stay active with their alma mater.  For more information, visit the University’s alumni website, http://www.csunalumni.com/ng/

The College is extraordinarily proud of our many accomplished graduates.  Learn about some of our alumni at our Alumni Spotlight page.
