The Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences at NSF (SBE) supports research that builds fundamental knowledge of human behavior, interaction, and social and economic systems, organizations and institutions. SBE offers several funding opportunities in a wide range of disciplines in the social and behavorial sciences, from anthropology and geogrpahy to sociology and political science.
In 2007, SBE awarded approximately $214 million to 760 successful applicants.
